A year-end update, plus holiday wishes to all!
The holiday season is a very special time of year for the My Dad’s Sweet Corn family. As each year draws to a close, we always have so much to be thankful for—but 2017 was one for the books! This December, here are all the reasons we’re especially grateful and looking forward to 2018.
Health & recovery
Dad is back on the tractor and has recovered from his accidental meet up with the locomotive last June. Mom has also recovered from the heart attack brought on by Dad’s ordeal. We were very close to having no more holiday seasons to celebrate together, so this Christmas is extra special.
Good yields despite the rain
The year started out rough with one of the wettest planting seasons on record, but even though the harvest was a little later than usual, the yields remained good.
The promise of great sweet corn next year
As always, Dad is working to improve next year’s crop, trying and tweaking new ideas and techniques to make our sweet corn even better. He’s already worked the ground and prepared it for season 2018—he doesn’t ever stop!
The kindness of others
After our rough spring, so many family, friends, and neighbors rallied around Dad and our family to make this season a go. These people are priceless and add such meaning to our lives. We are so grateful!
And of course, YOU, our customers!
We couldn’t do any of this without you! Thank you for your loyalty, your business, your kindness, and your support. From all of us here on the farm, best wishes for a wonderful holiday season—may it be as sweet as My Dad’s Sweet Corn!
